Consilium launches the 2017 Aerospace & Defence Salary Guide

Wednesday, July 12, 2017

Leading Midlands based engineering recruitment specialist, Consilium Recruit has published their annual comprehensive 2017 Aerospace salary guide. The guide will help HR and Hiring Managers to benchmark salaries against competition and gain market insight into hiring trends.

The Guide provides an in-depth review on salaries and covers a cross section of disciplines within the Aerospace industry.

It found that over half of Midlands Aerospace firms expect their headcount to rise this year with less than a third predicting numbers to remain the same. However, the main concern that continues to pre-occupy industry is the shortage of engineering talent. James Charlett, from Consilium says “With severe skills shortages across manufacturing and engineering industry at an all-time high, the Government needs to clarify visa policy so that companies can not only attract much-needed global talent into the UK workplace, but also encourage those already located here that they are welcome to stay”. That said, there is plenty of optimism within the Aerospace sector. Particularly in view of the potential new markets that may open up in the wake of Brexit coupled with the emergence of new technology available to UK firms whom are prepared to innovate.
