Food and drink trends for summer 2018

Tuesday, July 3, 2018

According to a recent report by Mintel, BBQ selections have already become gradually more diverse with the increasing addition of fish and cheese in recent years, but there has also been a marked increase in speciality vegan products reported, which caters for changing consumer tastes.

This follows a clear shift for consumers in the UK to reduce or limit meat and poultry consumption with a further trend being the arrival of ‘better-for-you’ ice cream characterised by lower sugar and high protein content.

Lastly, the popularity of bold flavoured sparkling waters is another strongly emerging trend as consumers continue their move away from sugar and artificial ingredients.
