Brexit – what Brexit? What a difference a month can make. Right across the media, talk has been about the after effects of the big vote, and despite all of the early warnings of impending doom, the UK jobs market is reported to have returned to pre-referendum levels already. The key points as captured by the Recruitment & Employment Confederation in their monthly report highlights the following:

  • Permanent appointments have risen for the first time in three months.
  • Staff availability (both permanent and contract) continues to fall as supported by latest employment figures.
  • Salary inflation unsurprisingly quickens.

The market continues to favour the jobseekers but for employers and recruiters alike, the current climate remains uncertain and is expected to remain so through to the end of the year.
