Job Description

This leading global industrial manufacturing and engineering business with multiple sites in the UK and a truly international footprint is actively seeking to appoint an experienced Key Account Manager to manage key client relationships and aid in achieving the growth targets for this business unit.

Commutable from: Worcester, Kidderminster, Stourbridge, Birmingham, Bridgnorth, Redditch, Worcestershire, Warwick, Banbury

Salary: £ 55,000 - £ 60,000 p.a + Strong Car Allowance + 25% Bonus + BUPA + Pension + Benefits

The Role

Reporting directly to the regional Business Manager, the Key Account Manager will be responsible for a mix of existing key account development and new client / business generation for the designated Automotive business unit on a global basis. The role will involve;

Identify new opportunities at current key accounts
Monitor market conditions and trends and gather information about customer needs
Co-ordinate market map of the segment ensuring data is updated
Study product information to acquire and develop professional knowledge
Agree and take responsibility for growth target (revenue and profit) for each assigned key account; aim to maximise share of customer budget versus competitors
Build relationships with Key account contacts in order to retain and grow that business
Identify and consult with others on potential improvements to be made to increase customer satisfaction
Travelling UK wide and internationally in order to manage key account relationships as well as generate and deliver new business into the automotive, White Goods and Medical sectors

The Person

You will be an experienced Automotive sales / commercial / account management professional and you will have a strong mix of the following skills and experience;

A minimum of a HND / HNC level of based education with supporting work experience in ideally an engineering / manufacturing related business
Knowledge of and experience within a solution-based sales and engineering environment where the end product is designed around customer issues and requirements rather than an "off the shelf" product set
The ability to read technical drawings to offer immediate feedback on feasibility to prospective customers
Previous experience and involvement in strategic sales planning and forecasting
Any technical knowledge or prior experience relating to Silicones, Ceramics or Carbon-based materials would be beneficial
Knowledge of the Medical or White Goods industries would also be advantageous as would in-depth knowledge of the global automotive Tier 1 and OEM sector and its key contributors
