Technical Author / Technical Trainer
A world renowned UK automotive vehicle manufacturer require a Technical Trainer / Technical Author to join their team on a permanent basis. To create and manage technical documentation in an easy to understand format. The successful candidate will be familiar with user guides for applications, reference and instruction manuals, training and service guides.

Salary: £26,000 - £30,000 p.a.

The Technical Author / Technical Trainer will be expected to create and manage documentation and communicate technical information regarding products and services in an easy to understand format.
This information can include user guides for the product applications, reference and instruction manuals, training or service guides. Along with training delivery where required.
The Technical Author / Technical Trainer will have the need to establish an understanding of the product and the various applications and interfaces, design and write documentation to explain it to users and service team, including editing and co-ordination.
You will provide the information in a variety of forms including demos, tutorials, illustrations and graphics as well as attending planning/briefing meetings in order to Collaborate with Engineers and team leaders to confirm technical content.
The Technical Author / Technical Trainer will also be responsible for delivering updated documents and training across the wider business so some travel will be required to dealership locations
The successful candidate will ideally be educated to degree level within a relevant subject - ideally with a background in automotive mechanics subject or be able to produce evidence of relevant experience.
A strong and proven ability to write technical guides and training documents is essential - specifically within automotive mechanics.
Excellent communication skills and an ability to present to individuals and groups, information updates and specific structured training courses.
The Technical Support Engineer will be experienced in working within the motor industry, covering vehicle repair, diagnosis and customer handling.
Ability to influence multi-level personnel within the business
Full UK Driving licence
Microsoft office skills essential particularly MS Excel/PowerPoint/Word/Adobe skills
Ability and willingness to adopt a hands on` approach with a flexible approach to working hours
Self-confident to be able to deliver accurate technical training
High level of communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to present at all levels
The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator who is looking to move into an office environment and will be technical but be able to communicate their knowledge to a variety of customers. You must be willing and prepared to travel in this role.
