Job Description

A globally recognised UK OEM of fully electric commercial vehicles are looking for a Senior EDS Engineer to join their expanding team. Reporting to the Chief Engineer of Electrical Systems, ideally with experience of harnesses in relation to HEV and EV integration.

Commutable from: Birmingham, Coventry, Leamington Spa, Warwick, Rugby

Salary: £ 45,000 - £ 50,000 p.a.

The Role:

The Senior EDS Engineer will support design and development tasks relating to high and low voltage wiring and fusing systems, component packaging and electrical power distribution.
The Senior EDS Engineer will support the preparation and approval of component data sheets and schematics.
You will provide guidance to ensure that wiring and electrical hardware are correctly located and packaged in accordance with installation, environmental and EMC requirements.
The Senior EDS Engineer will participate in all system review, verification & validation activities.
Fault identification and resolution including management of issues to closure.
Tier 1 supplier management and co-ordination including support for Procurement, Logistics and Quality throughout the project lifecycle.

The Candidate:

The Senior EDS Engineer must have demonstrable experience of electrical distribution system development – Ideally within circuit design, wiring/fusing systems and electrical packaging.
Experience in design for good electrical and EMC performance.
A sound knowledge of hybrid electrical vehicle architectures and wiring systems would be highly advantageous.
Experience with CATIA or similar software would be an advantage
Experience of system/component delivery within an APQP, six sigma or similar framework (FMEA, quality planning, PPAP etc).
You will be degree qualified in an Electronics, Control Systems, Automotive or similar honours Engineering Degree (Other recognised engineering qualifications combined with relevant significant experience may be considered).
You must be eligible to live and work in the UK without restrictions for travel in the UK and European Union.
