Job Description

An international Sensor Manufacturer with over 5,000 employees worldwide is looking to recruit a Area Sales Manager to join their Application Sales team. The role will see you focus on solution selling around their product portfolio. The ideal candidate will be driven with experience in Sensors or Automation products.

Commutable from: Leeds, Wakefield, Sheffield, Derby, Nottingham, York, Hull, Doncaster, Lincoln

Salary: Up to £ 40,000 p.a. + Company Car + Bonus + Pension + Private Healthcare + 26 days holiday

The Role

The Area Sales Manager will be set to achieve agreed targets in the Area.
Ongoing contact, support and development of existing focus customers in the specified region with the goal of maximizing their sales potential.
Sourcing, targeting and securing new business/customers in conjunction with the new business and Marketing teams.
The Area Sales Manager will be tasked with technical support and consulting for existing and potential customers across the product range
Presenting solutions for customer problems using products.
Hold product related presentations and training.
After sales service outside of that provided by the internal commercial and technical team.
Prepare and submit quotations in conjunction with internal commercial team.
Handling customer orders under consideration of the company`s sales policies.
Maintaining and using the CRM (Siebel) database on an ongoing basis as the backbone for good organisation, planning, and communication. Including recording of all customer related activities.
Introduction of new products to the given region.
To work with Key Account Managers to support the development and implementation of sales strategies. And to promote the introduction of new products, and assist with sales and technical
support into target markets and accounts.
To liaise with the Sales Engineer from the Process Automation team working in the sales area to promote all company`s products.
Prepare and lead negotiations with customers.
Continuous monitoring of the market and competition, analysis of market data with respect to competitors, their products and applications.

The Person

The ideal candidate will have technical qualifications in electrical/ Electro-Mechanical/ Electronic Engineering or relevant experience in the Factory automation and controls market. They may have a proven track record in sales and customer management with key accounts. This could be in a direct or indirect role. Product (sensors) knowledge is useful but not essential as full product training will be given.
The successful applicant will prove themselves to be an exceptional communicator, and negotiator, demonstrating confidence, credibility and passion as well as excellent relationship building skills. A full UK driving licence. Ideally the candidate will be located within the sales area.
