Network Team Leader
The Manufacturing Technology Centre is a UK success story - created to provide manufacturing systems solutions in an agile environment in partnership with industry, academia and other institutions. Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking a Network Team Leader. The purpose of the role is to lead the network function of the MTCs IT Team and to own/manage all functional elements of the network.
Duties and responsibilities of the Network Team Leader include:
Continually seeking, promoting and realising opportunities to optimise the network service, ensuring network availability and functionality across the business
Taking a leading role in road mapping and developing future strategies.
Building a dedicated network support function within the IT Infrastructure team, including recruiting and training team members.
Testing new project designs and technologies with a robust analytical approach, providing projects and operational support that may include out of hours work.
Assisting with adding, scripting, tooling and automation for network deployment, configuration and monitoring.
Line management of network team (including recruitment and training) and deputising for the Infrastructure Manager when appropriate
The Network Team Leader will have / be:
Technical abilities at the level of CCNP or CCIE qualifications (Certification not required but must be able to demonstrate experience/knowledge at this level).
A methodical and logical approach to problem- solving with excellent written and verbal social skills within a team and with partners.
Good knowledge of Scripting and automation.
Extensive experience working with some of the following platforms: Aruba OS, Procurve, Comware, HPe IMC, Aruba Clearpass/AirwaveNIA/RAP.
Solid grasp of networking fundamentals such as the OSI Model and TCP/IP stack.
Working knowledge of the network services required by a network to function and be manageable, such as DHCP, DNS, NTP, RADIUS and SNMP.
