Job Description

A CNC Workshop Technology Manager position has become available at The Manufacturing Technology Centre, which is a UK innovation success story - created to provide manufacturing systems solutions in an agile environment in partnership with industry, academia and other institutions. Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking a CNC Technology Manager within their CNC machining workshop.

The purpose of the role is to manage the operation and production of the MTC`s CNC workshop and Toolroom. Ensuring appropriate processes are implemented and maintained, to create a successful on time delivery to this State of the Art R&D facility machined components and help to develop the next generation on CNC capabilities through research programmes.

The Role

The CNC Workshop Technology Manager role will be to manage the operation and production of the MTC`s CNC workshop and Toolroom, responsibilities include:

Support researchers to deliver against project objectives, ensure that confidentiality agreements are maintained, manage and implement `best practice`
Ensuring appropriate production processes and workshop standards are implemented and maintained.
Regular reviews of Technician skill set to ensure varied skill coverage across the technology theme.
Ensure regular health and safety reviews are completed and processes put in place to maintain a safe working environment.
Man hour`s management to ensure successful project delivery times.
Coach and mentor the workshop teams to deliver optimum performance levels.
You will work in close partnership with the MTC Technology Director and ensure that the appropriate level of report and availability of data is maintained and readily available across the business.

The Person

You will be a degree qualified manufacturing industry professional with a Machining or Toolroom background who is conversant with modern and effective people management strategies centred on engagement and cooperation in addition to a lean, cost-effective approach to management of resources.
The CNC Workshop Technology Manager will act as a Health, Safety and Environment `best practice` champion within the business and demonstrate a strong adherence to all areas of the MTC "RIGHT" way. (The in house guide to successful working)
You will have good communication skills both written, email and report writing skills and spoken are essential for the position in addition to a good level of exposure to Lean Manufacturing approaches with skills in Six Sigma methodologies or similar.
