Job Description

A recognised aerospace group is currently recruiting for two Mechanical Engineers to join the team. Candidates must have experience working on new programmes from concept through to delivery and worked on complex components ideally in the aerospace, automotive or similar sector. There are two vacancies and candidates will be considered with a variety of experience hence the wide salary banding, salary dependant on experience.

Salary: £ 35,000 - £ 55,000 p.a. + benefits

The Role

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will ensure all components manufactured meet the requirements of the customer and comply to internal standards. You will work on all phases on new product development from product validation, design to manufacture and certification testing.

Key responsibilities:
Creation and review of technical requirements documents
Work closely with reliability Engineers to approve FMEAs
Perform performance calculations and simulations
Creation and review of technical requirement documents
Supports root cause investigation & corrective action implementation for qualification/design/manufacture issues.
Work with stress, thermal, vibration and reliability analysis engineers
Works closely with test engineers to develop all qualification test documents and test set-up.
Ensure all program targets are satisfied including technical performance, Cost & project milestones.
Responsible for maintaining Engineering Schedules
Interfaces with customer on a regular basis in coordination with the Project Managers
Coordinate/lead internal/external design reviews as required by the Chief Engineer and customer

The Person

Candidates must have experience of designing and developing complex, hydraulic precision components and have a relevant qualification within engineering. Experience with DFM, GD&T and understanding of relevant manufacturing processes will be essential. The ideal candidate will have Project Management skills including costing and scheduling.
