Job Description

High volume supplier of complex products to the automotive industry is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer. The Controls Engineer will undertake responsibility for PLC and Control system support in a busy factory alongside supporting plant electrical maintenance requirements.

Commutable from: Coventry, Redditch, Birmingham, Leamington Spa

Salary: £ 38,000 - £ 47,000 p.a. + Pension

The Role

Working in a fast-paced, high volume manufacturing plant supplying safety critical products to world class standards, the Controls Engineer will ensure the effective running and operation of PLC related equipment within the plant and related automated functions including robotics and sensors. This is a permanent position supporting a continuous production operation and as such flexibility will be needed to support periods of increased volume, planned maintenance, new machine installations and line moves.

The role involves working hands on with machinery on the factory floor including maintenance of equipment including electrical and mechanical parts in addition to software concerns. Previous electrical maintenance experience is highly preferable for the role.

The Person

The successful Controls Engineer will possess a recognised hands-on background within engineering ideally mechanically focused qualification or similar apprenticeship in addition to proven PLC/software expertise at fault-finding and ideally to programming level.

Applicants will ideally possess a recognised electrical qualification and be able to work in safe isolation on electrical projects.
