Job Description

A large national Automation product distributor working with over 40 different manufacturers is looking to recruit a Key Account Manager. The role will see the candidate develop existing accounts through implementation. The ideal candidate will have experience of selling Automation products (PLCs, Drives, Motion) and experience of selling to OEM`s.

Commutable from: Manchester, Liverpool, Blackburn, Bolton

Salary: £ 35,000 - £ 40,000 p.a. + Company Car + Bonus (9k) + Benefits

The Role

• The Key Account Manager will engage with and support the OEM Solutions team to help ensure new business wins and good implementation practice.
• Develop a bespoke business solution based around the OEM requirements working closely with the key stake holders.
• Work with the franchise partners to offer a commercial and technical solution as part of the account development.
• To help implement a customised business solution, matching the needs of each customer, and utilizing all of company`s different services
• Liaising with colleagues to ensure structured approach and commitments are being met
• Work closely with all OEM Solutions team and branches supporting all, when and where required
• Create and maintain relationships so you need to enjoy dealing with people and be confident that you can make a good impression.
• Take charge of your personal development and contribute to the evaluation of performance in line with core competencies and learning and development framework.

The Person

• The Key Account Manager is to deal with customers, so you need a solid education with GSCEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
• Ideally you will be qualified to at least ONC level in electrical engineering.
• The ability and determination to finish projects and take tasks through to their natural conclusion.
• Good day to day planning capabilities are an essential for satisfactory performance
• Technical interests, specialist skills and experience are important for long term success
• Good knowledge of electrical control product gained within a sales environment would be advantageous
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work comfortably at Director level.
