Project Engineer

Automotive manufacturer with multi-site presence in the UK is seeking a Project Engineer to join the current New Product Introduction team. The Project Engineer will engage with customers to support the effective delivery of new work into production and provide technical support to the OEM customer.

Commutable from: Leicester, Coventry, Birmingham, Northampton

Salary: £ 30,000 - £ 40,000 p.a. + Pension + Fastrack Progression

The Role

Reporting in to the Programme Director, the Project Engineer will play a pro-active role in supporting the NPI processes including the customer specification, costing, RFQ and delivery elements. The Project Engineer will provide in depth technical support to customers including product capability and suitability data, specification queries and integration support. The role is permanent and offers fast-track progression into a project management role.

The Person

The successful Project Engineer will possess ideally a recognised engineering/technical qualification and some experience within a tiered supply environment such as automotive or aerospace. The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings is essential in addition to a level of exposure to managing and assessing project costs. The role will require a level of personal flexibility to travel to customer sites including some overnight stays and international travel as part of the wider group operation.
