Job Description

Due to expansion a global manufacturer of precision components is currently recruiting CNC Machinists. You will be responsible for setting and operating CNC turning and milling machines & must have worked in precision engineering supplying components to the aerospace, automotive or energy sector (or similar).

Commutable from: Barnstaple, Taunton, Exeter, South Molton, Bideford, Tiverton.

Salary: £ 22,000 - £ 33,250 p.a. + Overtime + Pension + Life Assurance (dependent on shift)

Suitable for: CNC Machinist, CNC Miller, CNC Setter, CNC Setter, CNC Operator, Setter / Operator

The Role

You will be operating various machines as well as inspecting quality standards being achieved in the manufacture of complex aerospace components. Due to growth they have multiple roles and shifts:

Days (8 am till 4:45 pm Monday to Thursday, 8 am till 12 pm on Friday)
Twilight (4 pm till midnight Monday to Thursday, 11 am till 4 pm on Friday)
Nights (8:45 pm – 6 am Monday to Thursday)

Key responsibilities:

Working closely with pre-setter to make sure tooling is properly set up
Setting programmes on CNC machinery
Using measurement tools to ensure accuracy of parts
Loading appropriate tooling into machines
Resolving errors by taking corrective actions as needed

The Person

Apprenticeship qualified or experience of working as a CNC Machinist
Previous experience in setting and operating either CNC milling or turning machines
Knowledge of machine shop measurement techniques
Experience with Fanuc or Heidenhein operating systems advantageous but not essential
Flexible with work patterns dependent on business needs
