Job Description

A leading UK Lithium-Ion Battery Manufacturing Technical Centre are looking for a PLC Maintenance Technician to aid in the upscaling of their R&D process. You will be involved in the design and implementation and upkeep of electrical control and instrumentation systems.

Commutable from: Coventry, Warwick, Leamington Spa, Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford, Leicester, Birmingham

Salary: £ 38,000 – £ 45,000 p.a. + Benefits
Suitable for: PLC Maintenance Technician, Controls Technician, Controls Engineer, Systems Engineer.

The Role

Have a good understanding of control systems design, testing & commissioning processes.
Assist with the technical assessment of supplier proposals and drawings and provide appropriate comments.
Travel to suppliers as part of a team to inspect machines.
Assist with commissioning activities, ensuring equipment is safe and meets expectations defined in the commissioning plan.
Be a valued member of a small team responsible for the operation of a section of high-tech process equipment.
Ensure routine preventative maintenance activities are carried out as per the TPM schedule.
Respond to technical issues / breakdowns ensuring quality and production is maintained.
Lead response to any PLC related issues and be responsible for Machine software.
Implement continuous improvement of equipment and processes.

The Candidate

Ability to read engineering drawings.
Ability to follow, fault find and modify PLC, HMI and SCADA software.
Experience working as part of a small cross functional team.
Previous experience of structured problem solving, able to lead the problem-solving activity.
Experience of operating and maintaining complex machinery.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Self-supervising within the guidance and expectations of management.
