Job Description

The Manufacturing Technology Centre is a UK success story - created to provide manufacturing systems solutions in an agile environment in partnership with industry, academia and other institutions. Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking a part time Technical Specialist in Metrology. The purpose of the role is to provide technical leadership across the portfolio of Metrology projects undertaken.

The Role

As Technical Specialist you will be responsible for:
Leading the delivery of technical metrology projects on time and to cost.
Technical governance relating to dimensional measurement - reports, strategies and best practices.
Provide leadership for the development and delivery of the Metrology theme technology roadmaps.
Support business development/ customer liaison activities to increase revenue for the metrology theme.
Proactively promote best practice, strategic importance of metrology and data integrity through internal communications and external seminars.
Assist and advise on research project related to the metrology theme.

The Person

The successful candidate for the Technical Specialist recent and substantial work experience in an academic or industrial R&D environment in the area of Metrology.
Experience of supervising MSc/ PhD Students or Engineers in a working environment.
Experience proposing, costing, pricing and winning projects from industrial organisations in a competitive environment.
Experience producing and reviewing technical reports.
