Job Description

IT Network Team Leader position has become available at The Manufacturing Technology Centre. The MTC is a UK success story. - created to provide manufacturing systems solutions in an agile environment in partnership with industry, academia and other institutions.

The Role

The Purpose of the IT Network Team Leader is to lead the network function of the MTC`s IT Team being responsible for both Line Management and team development as well as technical competencies specifically:
wired and wireless network devices
VPN and RAP technologies
Wired and wireless management and security products
Physical auditing and management of infrastructure cabling and patching.
Managing vendor relations (ISP, Hardware and software suppliers, cabling contractors etc)

The Person

The successful candidate for the IT Network Team Leader will hold a relevant IT qualification ideally CCNP or CCIE, have at least 2 years experience working in a Line Managers position and be experienced and capable of:
Line management deliverables including daily time management, appraisals, development, training and recruitment.
working with some of the following platforms: Aruba OS, Procurve, Comware, HPe IMC, Aruba Clearpass/AirwaveNIA/RAP.
Solid grasp of networking fundamentals such as the OSI Model and TCP/IP stack.
Working knowledge of the network services required by a network to function and be manageable, such as DHCP, DNS, NTP, RADIUS and SNMP.
Experience working with HPe - Procurve, Comware &IMC.

It is essential that all candidates have the capability of gaining Security Clearance due to the nature of some industries The MTC operate in.
