Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking a Design for Additive Manufacturing - Research Engineer. The purpose of the role is to support the development of content and delivery of Design for Additive Manufacturing training material to internal and external customers in addition to supporting theme related research projects.
The Design for Additive Manufacturing - Research Engineer will be responsible for:
Working closely with the instructional Designers to develop training material specifically focussed on Design for Additive Manufacturing. Delivery of training material to customers both internal and external. Supporting research projects for Design for Additive Manufacturing, transferring technology into industry, supporting colleagues, clients and industrial members in order to deliver project requirements. Generating new project ideas in alignment with the theme`s strategy. Supporting the Technology Manager and Senior Research Engineers in the organisation of required resources (people, equipment, marketing collateral and MTC facilities) needed to deliver research projects. Working in accordance with MTC procedures as set out by the Business Management System compliant with ISO9001. Ensuring work undertaken meets or exceeds the customers` quality expectations, within budgets and timescales allocated.
The suitable candidate for the Design for Additive Manufacturing - Research Engineer will possess:
Engineering experience in Design for Additive Manufacturing. Solid understanding of Design for Additive Manufacturing design methods and workflows. Degree qualification in an appropriate engineering subject. Knowledge of Additive Manufacturing techniques and principles. Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with technical and non-technical audiences internal and external to MTC during delivery of training and support of research projects. Pragmatic hands-on approach to problem solving and a desire to increase knowledge of and undertake projects in the field of Design for Additive Manufacturing. Previous experience of working in a team based, collaborative environment where technical understanding will be challenged. An understanding of methods employed in research of low technology readiness level methods for use in industry is desirable.
