The Manufacturing Technology Centre is a UK success story - created to provide manufacturing systems solutions in an agile environment in partnership with industry, academia and other institutions. Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking a Sector Development Manager. The purpose of the role is to develop and match the MTC technology roadmaps with clients and other Catapults in order to develop a strategic pipeline of activity within the Space sector.

The Sector Development Manager will be responsible for: Developing a growing revenue stream related to collaborative research projects with businesses that fall under the Space sector. Produce and maintain technology roadmaps relevant to the Space sector. Creating relevant sector or client value propositions inline with their company strategies. Building long lasting relationships with companies MTC can support from shared technology. Managing a revenue pipeline between £3 -10 million. taking ownership of key strategic proposal development. Contribute to 12 month rolling order forecast for use at review meetings. Leading regular review sessions with customers to ensure strategies maintain alignment and highlight opportunities for further collaborations. Supporting BD colleagues in the development of high quality, fit for purpose proposals. Work closely with cross functional technology teams to ensure delivery capabilities are realised.
The successful candidate for the Sector Development Manager possess the following background.
Degree qualified ideally within a technical engineering discipline. Previous experience working within the Space sector. Sales or Business Development experience focussing more on services rather than products. Good knowledge of innovative manufacturing technologies. Experience writing technical business proposals. Managing revenue pipelines and reporting on new business forecasts. Ability to present complex issues and proposals to both technical and non technical customers. Confident in acting as the point of contact for clients and able to develop long lasting relationships.
