Due to continued growth & investment one of the Europe`s leading research organisations has a new vacancy for a Principal Electrical Design Engineer. Applicants must have proven track record designing complex mechatronic systems and be experienced managing complex designs and design teams.

Salary: £ 55,000 - £ 62,000 + pension + benefits

The Role

Working for one of Europe`s leading research and development organisations the Principal Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for technical leadership for the electrical engineering team and will involve leading the electrical aspect of the design in projects for internal and external customers.

Key responsibilities:
Accountable for the delivery of electrical design packages to budget, schedule and quality
Developing system requirements in collaboration with other project leaders
The job holder will be responsible for evaluating designs, reviewing compliance with company procedures, establishing tests and writing commissioning plans
Assisting in the testing and commissioning of systems
Authorise and sign off major project activities/milestones/reports
Produce electrical systems specifications
Producing electrical distribution designs for facilities to appropriate regulations and standards
Preparing electrical schematics and BOMs for new prototype equipment.
Approves quality of design work performed by contractors
Actively maintains knowledge of technical developments in field

The Candidate

With previous management experience, you will be a Chartered Engineer with a relevant degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering and proven experience designing mechatronic systems from cradle to grave. Working with project stakeholders to resolve technical conflicts and resolve problems will be able to coach less experienced staff and proven ability to interact efficiently with people in a variety of different situations.
