The Manufacturing Technology Centre is a UK success story - created to provide manufacturing systems solutions in an agile environment in partnership with industry, academia and other institutions. Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking a Senior Business Development Manager Construction and Infrastructure. The purpose of the role is the support the growth of the Construction and Infrastructure sector by identifying, qualify and securing new business.

Reporting to the Director of Business Development and Insight, The Senior Business Development Manager Construction and Infrastructure will identify, qualify and secure new business whilst maintaining client-centric business relationships.
As part of the role you will: Identify key contacts within targeted clients, developing strong mutually beneficial relationships. Build fruitful and long-lasting working relationships at all levels internally, integrating yourself as a member of the sector team, the business development and insight team, and wider teams across the MTC Take lead responsibility for developing client accounts and capture plans. Develop a new business pipeline for both new and existing accounts where you will be working on a opportunities worth between £3m - £10m per year. Ensure maximum value is derived for clients from their tiered membership working with the membership team. Accountability for taking identified opportunities through from requirements capture to the delivery of compelling value added proposals, in line with current MTC processes. Lead on communication with the client through to receipt of purchase order and proactively seeking customer feedback during and post-delivery of projects. Track all activities through the daily use of the CRM system. Be responsible for providing a 12 month rolling order forecast for use at monthly sector review meetings.
The successful candidate for the Senior Business Development Manager Construction and Infrastructure role will possess the following attributes:
A driven, business-winning mindset with strong influencing skills, a good appreciation of technology, excellent communication skills, creative thinking to construct opportunities and a completer/finisher approach to ensure projects are delivered. A technical background with ideally a level of exposure to industrial/manufacturing sectors and a technically focused degree particularly engineering would be beneficial. A recognised team player who is driven to initiate and grow new relationships with clients, possessing situational awareness, emotional intelligence and the ability to build rapport quickly with customers. A client-facing professional with proven ability to form lasting business relationships and conversant with sales and proposal development techniques such as Huthwaite SPIN` methodology, Strategic Account Planning and Proposal Development.
