The Manufacturing Technology Centre is a UK success story - created to provide manufacturing systems solutions in an agile environment in partnership with industry, academia and other institutions. Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking a Senior Business Development Manager - Power & Energy. The purpose of the role is the support the growth of the Power & Energy sector by working with identified key prospective clients, developing strategic account plans, qualifying and closing new opportunities.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within the newly formed Power and Energy sector team at the Manufacturing Technology Centre to develop opportunities identified across the Civil Nuclear sector into high impact projects. You will provide clients with access to the breadth of technologies and capabilities at its Coventry site. As a Business Development Manager, you will identify and establish strong working relationships with key contacts across the Civil Nuclear Sector, develop joint action plans and deliver client centric solutions. You will have a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, have proven revenue generating business development experience and be skilled in complex sales. You will be comfortable working at a C Suite Director level.
As part of the role you will:
Identify key contacts within targeted clients, developing strong mutually beneficial relationships. Build fruitful and long-lasting working relationships at all levels internally, integrating yourself as a member of the sector team, the business development and insight team, and wider teams across the MTC Take lead responsibility for developing client accounts and capture plans. Develop a new business pipeline for both new and existing accounts where you will be working on a opportunities worth between £3m - £10m per year. Ensure maximum value is derived for clients from their tiered membership working with the membership team. Accountability for taking identified opportunities through from requirements capture to the delivery of compelling value added proposals, in line with current MTC processes. Lead on communication with the client through to receipt of purchase order and proactively seeking customer feedback during and post-delivery of projects. Track all activities through the daily use of the CRM system. Be responsible for providing a 12 month rolling order forecast for use at monthly sector review meetings.
The successful candidate for the Senior Business Development Manager Power & Energy role will possess the following attributes:
A driven, business-winning mindset with strong influencing skills, a good appreciation of technology, excellent communication skills, creative thinking to construct opportunities and a completer/finisher approach to ensure projects are delivered. A technical background with ideally a level of exposure to industrial/manufacturing sectors and a technically focused degree particularly engineering would be beneficial. A recognised team player who is driven to initiate and grow new relationships with clients, possessing situational awareness, emotional intelligence and the ability to build rapport quickly with customers. Able to engage successfully with prospective clients with no prior knowledge MTC`s activity Experience of working within the Power & Energy sector or connected sector with a developed understanding of engineering/manufacturing organisations. A client-facing professional with proven ability to form lasting business relationships and conversant with sales and proposal development techniques such as Huthwaite SPIN` methodology, Strategic Account Planning and Proposal Development.
