Due to continued expansion a leading national R&D organisation has a new vacancy for a Skills Academy Manager. The Skills Academy Manager will be responsible for managing and developing the skills of the future workforce and will be involved in STEM activities, Knowledge Transfer Partnerships and developing relationships with local academia.

Commutable from: Cardiff, Bristol, Gloucester, Newport, Hereford, Abergavenny, Chepstow, Monmouth.

Salary: £ 40,000 - £ 45,000 p.a. + excellent benefits

Suitable for: Learning and Development Manager, Academy Manager, STEM Manager, Academy Site Manager, Academy Coordinator, Training Manager, L&D Manager.

The Role

Working for a nationally recognised leading research and development organisation you will develop various programmes relating to the developing the skills of the future. Key responsibilities for the Skills Academy Manager will include:

Engage in partnerships and programmes with schools, higher and further education institutions, including scholarships, doctoral training and projects.
Lead the skills academy function
Develop Metrics to demonstrate the impact of the Skills Academy.
Work with our Business Development team to coordinate and drive forward an innovative partnership programme.
Develop engagement programmes which support the strategic objective to build skills in engineering & technology
Work with the organisations STEM ambassadors
Maximise engagement with partner organisations to find opportunities for developing skills.
Act as liaison for students gaining experience with the company, providing pastoral support where necessary.

The Candidate

Candidates are sought with experience developing programmes in an education, training or professional development environment – preferably in a STEM environment.
Significant experience of coordinating development activities and organising events.
Ability to understand the positive impact that technology can have on daily life, society and the economy.
An ability to act strategically, whilst delivering operationally.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with an ability to present a wide range of audiences.
High level of organisational ability and attention to detail.
Aptitude to develop strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including academia, industry and professional bodies.
