Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking a Technology Manager Business Unit Lead. The purpose of the role is to provide leadership and delivery of a specific function, or the technical delivery of a large programme of work, within part of the MTC‘s Technology Group, or Industrial Sectors

As the Technology Manager Business Unit Lead the initial focus will be leadership and management in the specific areas of setting the departments financial and growth targets in line with MTC objectives and to Co-ordinate department functions to lead consistently across the functions.
Further responsibilities include:
You will be required to collaborate closely with colleagues in the same management team to deliver the objectives of the business unit or large project.
On an as required basis, you will work collegiately with all or some of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult network of centres, MTC‘s academic partners & Members and appropriate sub-contractors to strengthen our eco-system‘s ability to support our clients and stakeholders.
Coaching and mentoring direct reports, and other colleagues as required, is an essential part of your role to support the development of leadership and management capability across the business.
Through your knowledge, you will provide advice and guidance to both internal and external stakeholders on strategy, opportunities and risks, as well as possible people and business impacts of decisions.
You will contribute to or define the forward strategy for the Resource Management and participate or lead corporate initiatives as required.
You will be required to drive continuous improvement in technical aspects of the MTC‘s project delivery capability including: behaviours; processes; structures; and, tools.
To lead and promote the conformance of H&S management within the department.
To instil the RIGHT behaviours, and a culture of continuous improvement.
To drive overall performance and development of the resources within the department or group.
The successful candidate for the Technology Manager Business Unit Lead will possess the following attributes:
As a Manager in the organisation, you may be required to contribute to negotiations with external parties in a constructive way, promoting MTC‘s perspective, whilst being cognisant and receptive to others‘ views.
You must be able to communicate to all levels of the business in a professional and courteous manner ensuring that all parts of the business run as one MTC to deliver corporate objectives.
You will be a degree-calibre engineer, technologist, scientist or mathematician, have an understanding of the breadth of Engineering technologies and their respective manufacturing industrial applications across the Technology theme.
You will have a range of management and leadership skills along with knowledge and experience relating directly to the delivery of this management role. You will use this to lead the activities you are responsible for and to contribute to broader debates on the tactical direction of the business.
