Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

Devon £35 - £45 per hour Contract

A manufacturer of precision components is currently recruiting a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join its plant in Devon on a contract basis. Working with the Quality Director you will be taking a lead role in the development of the Quality Management Systems implementing changes and candidates must be lead auditor trained and an experienced quality professional.

 

Commutable from: Devon, Exeter, Torquay, Newton Abbot, Paignton, Dawlish, Brixham.

 

Rate: dependent on experience

 

Suitable for: Quality Assurance Engineer, Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, Quality Manager, Quality Engineer, QA Engineer.

 

 

The Role

 

Working on a project expecting to run until March 2022, you will be responsible for leading the planning, delivery and introduction of the companies Quality Management System. You will act as focal point of engagement, for the purposes of audit planning, with customers and regulators for all external audits of the site.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Lead activities designed to improve the overall effectiveness of the QMS.

Responsible for the identification of risks and potential impacts upon the BMS through the conducting of effective trend analysis, communicating these to stakeholders at all levels

Responsible for the timely and effective completion of all findings and corrective actions

To act as the action management facilitator for the business, working with action owners to ensure actions are completed in a timely and effective manner

To lead 6S activity across the department.

To promote a safety-first culture; intervene constructively to highlight or challenge unsafe or perceived unsafe actions.

 

 

The Person

 

An experienced quality professional at senior level with proven experience in developing and maintaining a QMS

Demonstrable ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the business.

ISO 9001 Lead Auditor essential.

Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) or equivalent qualification in root cause and problem-solving techniques (preferable)

Excellent task awareness with proven ability to prioritise and manage conflicting demands whilst meeting operational deadlines.

Demonstrable experience in leading Quality investigations & cross-functional 8D problem solving workshops.

Associate or Practitioner of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) or can demonstrate working towards it.

ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Lead Auditor desired.
