The UK Battery Industrialisation Centre (UKBIC) is at heart of the UK‘s drive to develop the latest battery technology that is enabling transition to a greener future. This unique facility is now commercially operational and seeks to appoint a Training Manager to lead and co-ordinate companywide training within this centre of engineering excellence.

The Training Manager will work closely with HR and departmental Managers, you will lead and co-ordinate companywide training ensuring both process compliance and best practice systems are put in place and standardised. Key responsibilities for the Training Manager:
Take ownership of the overall Training Plan including the identification, creation and provision of process related training including timings, facilitators, budgets and accreditation requirements.
Assess skills capability in the workplace and establish a skills requirement matrix that identifies learning gaps in order to facilitate the creation and / or fulfilment of training support.
Establish a standardised curriculum and approach that can be accredited, including completing regular assessments of process training, competency gap and training ROI.
Work with HR system to assure training records and controls in place and support managers in maintaining up to date training matrix along with regular reporting
Control and co-ordination of companywide training to include post training evaluations
Creation of training modules as required to support the needs of the business
Coordinate the Apprentice programme and liaise with external bodies to develop a framework that can be used to generate an income stream, plus development of a STEM outreach strategy.
Involvement in all cross company key meetings, identifying and where necessary developing and improvement of training is required plus seek to continually improve process training and competency levels across the organisation.
Competent and confident trainer with a proven training delivery background gained within an advanced manufacturing or high-volume processing environment.
A self-starting professional with the ability to establish and coordinate systems improvement to support managers across the business and achieve the best approach for training and competence.
Ability to audit and interrogate diverse processes to assure systems are robust to support training and skills provision, plus establish best methodology for L&D.
In summary, the role holder will need to be organised and structured, able to project manage, a strong communicator and influencer, s plus lead from the front as a coach, mentor and facilitator for training excellence and improvement.
