A global tier 1 manufacturer of complex components to the automotive sector has a new vacancy for a Health, Safety & Environmental Manager to join their plant in Leicester. Candidates are sought with experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing/engineering environment with a good understanding of HSE legislation and good leadership skills.

Salary: £ 40,000 - £ 55,000 p.a. plus benefits.

The Role


Part of a successful global group, you will manage the sites health and safety function developing and implementing best practice and procedures and developing the team. It will be your responsibility to improve and maintain all statutory requirements to include drafting and implementation of HSE systems policy and procedures.


Key responsibilities:


Provide competent advice, information and assistance to directors, managers, and staff

Ensure the company is up to date with changing legislation, and implements necessary changes

Develop the culture toward health & safety best practise

Lead and mentor the health and safety team

Oversee and coordinate environmental health and safety practises

Drive cultural change towards health and safety

To introduce and maintain accident preventative systems

Manage risk assessments and follow up all incident/accident investigations

Ensure that all employees always work in a healthy and safe environment

Facilitate risk assessment, auditing, inspection, and incident investigation activities and ensure they are completed to a satisfactory standard

Lead health and safety related initiatives, projects and meetings as required.



The Person


Candidates will be preferably NEBOSH qualified and have a ’hands on‘ approach to EHS, working with multiple teams to motivate and improve attitudes towards EHS. A good leader you will have up-to-date knowledge of current health and safety practises you will have strong influencing skills and previously worked in fast paced manufacturing/engineering environment.
