Due to continued investment a manufacturer of precision components has a new vacancy for a Continuous Improvement Engineer. Candidates will be tasked with driving a continuous improvement philosophy while working hands on applying lean manufacturing tools and applicants are sought with experience working in a complex manufacturing environment.

 

 

Commutable from: Crewkerne, Taunton, Chard, Yeovil, Exeter, Weymouth, Bridgwater, Dorchester.

 

Salary: £ 30,000 - £ 38,000 p.a. + pension + excellent benefits.

The Role

 

You will be responsible for delivering sustainable improvements in key areas of the business, offering timely and effective engineering support focusing on improvement projects and supporting the business in key areas.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

Identify areas for improvement in the shop floor layout, processes/equipment etc

Driving and facilitating business improvements to optimise productivity, reduce scrap, improve on time delivery and identifying cost effective solutions.

Using Kaizen activities to identify areas for improvement

Standardisation of working practises and processes

Ownership of action/progress tracking

Work with Engineering teams to support yield activities.

 

 

The Person

 

As Continuous Improvement Engineer , you will have a proven background in continuous improvement you will be well practiced in driving continuous improvement, ideally have six sigma training and a good understanding of complex manufacturing and preferably heavy engineering. With strong influencing skills you will be analytical and be able to work on your own initiative with the ability to build strong relationships.

 

An effective time manager you will have the ability to multi-task, be able to forge strong relationships with colleagues.
