Working at their modern, fully serviced office in Hednesford, you will provide technical, project management and architectural support to ongoing and new commercial and retail new build and refurbishment projects throughout the UK.

Salary:  £ 22,000 - £ 24,000 p.a. (Dependent on Experience) + Pension + Bonus (for full package please contact us)



The Role


HLP UK is a multi-disciplinary practice, specialising in measured surveys, architectural design and building surveying services. Regulated by the RICS, HLP UK have clients and projects UK wide, and their experience means they are a trusted partner to many in house property teams and industry partners who find them to be flexible and responsive to their changing needs. They are enjoying an incredibly exciting phase in the development of their portfolio of projects and are now seeking an experienced CAD Technician to join them.


The CAD Technician will be responsible for offering architectural and design support to new and existing clients within the company portfolio and will be required to work across multiple projects as and when required. The CAD Technician role requires production of design output including models, plans and drawings, the production of acquisition and condition reports and project management support. The CAD Technician role is client facing and requires management and relationship building of new and existing customers and possess excellent communication skills. The CAD Technician must also remain flexible, proactive and be able to adjust to the dynamic working environment where a rapid response to a client is required. This may require UK travel and the execution of site surveys and visits as and when required.


The CAD Technician will be responsible for converting 3D scans from site visits into drawings of elevations, floor and roof spaces into CAD models and produce models and drawings to company standard. The CAD Technician is responsible for the quality of output and that company Quality standards are upheld. The production of associated project reports both of a technical nature and those that support the management of the project are also a required output from the CAD Technician.


Additionally, the CAD Technician will support the generation of pre-contract reports, support for feasibility of projects and generation of statutory planning and building control prior to and during the project. Due to the nature of the environment, there will also be a management requirement of assigned projects, such that reporting progress and status of projects to senior management will be necessary.



The Person


The CAD Technician will ideally possess an A level standard education or similar vocational qualification and have experience of working with 3D CAD packages in a construction and customer facing environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent IT skills and experience and interest in IT packages used in surveying, design, and construction environments. Most importantly the successful candidate should be self-starting, proactive, have a can-do attitude, with a flexible and accommodating work ethic and professional demeanour, and can support all functions of the business as and when required.
