Job Description

The Manufacturing Technology Centre is a UK success story - created to provide manufacturing systems solutions in an agile environment in partnership with industry, academia and other institutions. Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking a Process Development - Senior Research Engineer. The purpose of the role is to contribute to the Advanced Tooling & Fixturing technology theme through delivery of allocated projects for MTC`s customers, operating within the Process Development team.

The Role

Duties and responsibilities for the Process Development - Senior Research Engineer are:

To deliver the qualification of developed solutions and future state processes through applied problem solving.
Conducting research and benchmarking relative technologies for deployment to MTC projects.
To gain familiarity and eventually expertise within process automation, tooling, fixturing and automation across a broad range of industries.
Author reports, deliver technical presentations and generate project proposals for customer projects.
Identify and progress the development of customer and Core Research Project (CRP) opportunities.
Manage and deliver customer projects in line with the MTC Project Management Process. Ensuring the quality, delivery, cost management and safety of yourself and others at all times whilst adhering to MTC values.

The Person

The successful candidate for the Process Development - Senior Research Engineer role will:

A BEng degree in an appropriate engineering subject or BSc in an appropriate STEM subject.
Minimum of 5 years in the development of innovative technology solutions for a variety of industrial sectors.
Experience and knowledge of manufacturing processes for tooling, fixturing and automation technologies as a minimum
Experience in team leadership or junior management
