Project Support Officer
Job Description
The Manufacturing Technology Centre is a UK success story - created to provide manufacturing systems solutions in an agile environment in partnership with industry, academia and other institutions. Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking a Project Support Officer. The purpose of the role is to assist in the day to day running of the Project Management Office (PMO) carrying out support activities as required.
The Role
Duties and responsibilities of the Project Support Officer include:
Project creation in ERP systems including creation of contracts and planning of milestones
Creation of projects within the project server database, liaison with project managers to ensure that the correct information is collected at project creation and maintained throughout the life of the project
Monitoring the progress of projects and reporting on project status
Reviewing and reporting project budget and finances
Aide project resourcing and support the project management teams to maintain effective resourcing plans
General project administration
Timesheet management and reporting to senior management team
Supporting Project managers and coordinators in the use of Microsoft Project and other project tools; specifically ensuring that project plans are kept up to date to ensure reports to senior management team are accurate
The Person
The Project Support Officer will have / be:
Experience and a working understanding of the various project management tools that relate to a professional services environment
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages (specifically Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
Experience in resource and project management
Experience of working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (specifically AX Dynamics and Project Server)
Experience of working in a Project Management Office (PMO) or Project Support Office (PSO) within a professional services environment
Self-motivated with ability to meet deadlines and can produce reports to the required and appropriate standard
