The UK Battery Industrialisation Centre (UKBIC) are currently recruiting a Purchasing Manager to set up all of the Purchasing Processes for the project. UKBIC are a leading Lithium-Ion Battery Manufacturing Technical Centre located in the West Midlands. They aim to develop the next generation of battery systems across electrode, cell, module and pack levels to allow companies to move to full scale, high volume battery manufacturing.

Salary: £ 58,000 - £ 68,000 p.a. + benefits

As a Purchasing Manager you will;
Set up Purchasing processes and systems from scratch.
Develop commodity strategy in line with business requirements
Negotiate with internal customers and/or suppliers in terms of contractual agreements
Maintain regular contact with current/potential suppliers to develop/maintain commercially competitive business partnership
Work closely with and develop the existing supplier base to ensure the supplier base achieves the best possible rating
Implement purchasing strategy and monitor the progress to ensure you achieve cost down targets
The successful Purchasing Manager will have;
The experience and skills to set up purchasing processes and systems from scratch.
Hands on experience in production or manufacturing environment for 5 + years
Automotive experience would be ideal
Experience managing and motivating a team
Hands on experience in supplier site audit and production
Working knowledge of lean manufacturing would be advantageous.
