Job Description

A globally recognised manufacturer of precision components is currently recruiting an Engineering Graduate. Candidates will have a degree in mechanical or automation engineering and an interest in quality or process engineering.

Commutable from: Taunton, Exeter, Yeovil, Barnstable, Torquay, Tiverton, Plymouth, Oakhampton, Minehead.

Salary: £ 24,000 - £ 28,000 p.a. + pension + life assurance

Suitable for: Engineering Graduate, Graduate.

The Role

This is a challenging opportunity for engineering graduates to gain experience in a Metrology/Quality Engineering role, full training and support will be provided.

This role will involve developing and implementing measurement strategies, programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and producing dimensional inspections reports for customers.

Key responsibilities:
Understanding customer requirements from engineering drawings/specifications
Using measuring instruments to mark out and inspect dimensional conformity
Supporting engineers to develop measurement/ metrology techniques
Understanding of gauging requirements, creating gauges for operations teams
Develop and programme CMMs for automated gauging equipment
Use CAD software to interrogate models.
Producing FAIRs
Problem solving activities supporting engineering and operations on metrology issues

The Candidate

You will have gained a qualification, preferably in mechanical engineering or automation.

They are looking for candidates who have the ability to take on challenges and are looking to develop their knowledge in an Quality/Metrology Engineering role.
