Job Description

A Senior Apprentice Technical Trainer/ Lecturer is needed to join a new state of the art training centre. The Manufacturing Technology Centre is collaborating with the UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) and the Science and Technology Facilities Council (ST) to train and develop apprentices in a brand new purpose built training academy in Oxfordshire.
Courses will be delivered by the MTC, replicating the industry-leading Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre on the MTC campus in Coventry. The AMTC has rapidly built a reputation for equipping apprentices not only with core engineering skills but also the latest advanced manufacturing techniques. The environment is both dynamic and engaging, supporting the next generation of highly skilled and agile Engineers.
Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking an Senior Apprentice Technical Trainer. The purpose of the role is to instil the right skills, knowledge and behaviours in Apprentices, Engineering Technicians and STEM Graduates.

The Role

The Senior Apprentice Technical Trainer/ Lecturer will be responsible for:

Delivery of high quality, efficient and engaging technical training including practical, theoretical and distance based.
Coaching and mentoring apprentices through the their entire apprenticeship.
Managing the implementation of both engineering projects and inclusion of Duke of Edinburgh Gold award within the apprentice calendar.
Taking the lead and progressing entry in numerous national and regional awards.
Taking Ownership of knowledge and/or competency apprentice progress in line with timely completion of units.
Day to day supervision and mentoring of the trainer team, ensuring learner groups are staffed at all times and supporting the Apprentice Programme Manager with the recruitment of new staff with the appropriate skills set.

The Person

The successful candidate for the Senior Apprentice Technical Trainer / Lecturer will have previous experience in the design and delivery of engineering training programmes.
Previous experience of supervising and training a team of trainers.
Qualified to at least HND level or equivalent.
Strong understanding of all legislation and health and safety regulations for a learning environment.
Previous experience in delivering technical modules to apprentices.

All applicants will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check prior to being employed within the apprentice team.
