Job Description

A Training Workshop Technician is needed to join a new state of the art training centre. The Manufacturing Technology Centre is collaborating with the UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) and the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) to train and develop apprentices in a brand-new purpose-built training academy in Oxfordshire.
Courses will be delivered by the MTC, replicating the industry-leading Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre on the MTC campus in Coventry. The AMTC has rapidly built a reputation for equipping apprentices not only with core engineering skills but also the latest advanced manufacturing techniques. The environment is both dynamic and engaging, supporting the next generation of highly skilled and agile Engineers.

Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking a Training Workshop Technician. The purpose of the role is to ensure successful day to day running of the Training Workshop including the quality and health and safety standards are adhered to.

The Role

The Training Workshop Technician will be responsible for preventative maintenance checks on workshop equipment including minor repairs.
Liaise with equipment suppliers to schedule annual equipment servicing and repairs.
Monitoring health and safety and welfare standards within the workshop.
Reviewing health and safety documentation such as risk and COSHH and amend depending on activities taking place.
Responsibility over workshop stocks and replenish accordingly.
Ensure resources and facilities are prepared for delivery of course/ training material.

The Person

The successful candidate for the Training Workshop Technician will have a current technical competence in manufacturing/mechanical maintenance with supporting relevant qualification.
This role will require strong organisational skills in order to set training rooms up accordingly for the course material that will be delivered which may involve a level of problem solving.
Experience installing and commissioning manufacturing machinery to assist with the opening and on time delivery of the building opening.
A background working to quality standards such as ISO9001/ISO18001 and also health and safety is key to ensure safe working environment for apprentices.
The successful Training Workshop Technician will have a relevant apprenticeship or qualification and be familiar with supporting workshop processes.
