Job Description

As a result of growth, a large food manufacturing company are looking for a Production Manager. You`ll be responsible for developing, leading and managing the budget for the line and team. You will be experienced with managing and leading a team with a background working within a Food or FMCG manufacturing environment.

Salary: £ 35,000 to £ 45,000 plus Annual Bonus, Pension, 28 days holidays, Life Assurance

Suitable for: Production Supervisor, and Production Team Leader, Production Manager, Production Shift Manager, Area Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager

The Role

Reporting into the Director, you`ll be responsible for staffing, recruiting the correct team members and developing current team members.
Building team skills through skills assessment, training plans and support.
Conducting routine audits and health safety checks in addition to maintaining standards of quality, legality and safety.
Responsibility for the development and ongoing operational performance of a team. Setting and managing KPI`s and training of all staff. Maintaining and recording the team`s time management, attendance, in addition dealing with holidays, return to work.
Analysing the ongoing performance of staff ensuring high levels of performance and output. Managing production line budget and explaining variances between actual and budget.
Scheduling orders effectively, maximizing efficiencies and operational throughput.
As the Production Manager you will maintain regular communication with Engineering, Technical and Hygiene departments, with any issues or errors which will effect production.

The Person

Degree qualified Production Manager with experience of managing and leading a team within a Food or FMCG manufacturing environment.
Effective man- management skills and driving change, with experience and knowledge of developing teams.
Knowledge of BRC audits, Food Safety with a strong knowledge of HACCP.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, with a knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
Strong knowledge of Continuous improvement processes and Lean Manufacturing with ability to implement and managing new manufacturing process.
