Job Description

An automotive engineering company are looking to recruit a Press Shop Manager to join their production department. You`ll be responsible for driving productivity and over equipment effectiveness (OEE) across all of production. Coming from a strong automotive components manufacturing background, this candidate will have experience managing a press shop previously.

Commutable from: Bicester, Milton Keynes, Bletchley, Towcester, Aylesbury, Oxford, Banbury, Northampton, Dunstable

Salary: £ 65,000 p.a. - £ 75,000 p.a. Holiday + Pension + Parking

The Role of Press Shop Manager:

Working hours Mon-Thu 07:30-16:45 & Fri 07:30-12:30
Ensure power press resources are effectively managed
Drive OEE measurement and productivity, improving target average across all presswork production
Provide management information as and when requested regarding production performance, downtime, capacity and planning
Manage supervisors ands team leaders to motivate and organise team members ensuring parts are efficiently made, to correct standard and on time
Uphold health and safety standards of each press
Ensure the department has enough consumables for service and repair
Work in conjunction with the Plant and Production Director to keep manning (staff levels) to a minimum without affecting production
Assist the project team ensuring that any new projects or products are successfully launched

The Person:

Must be a visible and active presence on the shop floor
Carry out annual appraisals and define personnel objectives
Must have previous managerial experience role in a Press Shop with capacity up to 1000 tons manufacturing automotive components
Strong working knowledge of manufacturing methods and process improvements, including but not limited to manufacturing and 6 sigma lean manufacturing
Fantastic written and oral communication skills
Excellent MS Office skills
