Robotics Research Engineer
The Manufacturing Technology Centre is a UK success story - created to provide manufacturing systems solutions in an agile environment in partnership with industry, academia and other institutions. Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking a Research Engineer Robotics & Automation systems. The purpose of the role is to contribute and enhance research in the area of Robotics and Autonomous systems.
Intelligent Automation is a large subject area covering many fields of engineering and sectors of industry. At MTC we define Intelligent Automation`s key focus area as being:
The use of industrial robotics to carry out specific manufacturing tasks
Controls systems that support the control of a manufacturing process
Sensing systems that enable an industrial robot to perceive its surroundings and send information to a control system for a decision to be made
Process automation equipment which can be re-programmed for the manufacture of products in a continuous process
Autonomous systems that are capable of adjusting their actions dependant upon sensory input with no or minimal direction from human beings
As the Robotics & Automation Research engineer you will conduct background research/literature surveys into relevant automation technologies
You will be responsible for the delivery of development automation equipment
You will ensure processes are to be conducted as part of the technology trials are safe and conform to the MTC`s Health & Safety policies. This will require the engineer to generate Risk Assessments and Method Statements/
You will play an active part in project teams. Participate in project meetings with the other contributing partners.
The ideal candidate for the Research Engineer Robotics & Automation Systems is someone who has a firm understanding of software engineering principles and can apply techniques to typical MTC engineering applications as well as programming languages` such as C#, JAVA, PYTHON, C/C++
