Job Description

A British Engineering Company supplying components to some the most well-known Aerospace manufacturers in the world are seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer. As a Manufacturing Process Engineer, you will provide technical support to ensure optimal performance in the production of castings. You will have experience in a similar role within a castings manufacturing environment.

Commutable from: Worcester, Redditch, Stourbridge, Kidderminster, Bromsgrove, Alcester

Salary £ 40,000 p.a. - £ 50,000 p.a. + Pension + Early finish on a Friday + On-site parking + 25 days holiday

The Role

Responsibilities as a Manufacturing Process Engineer;

Develop and improve manufacturing processes and quality control measures and resolve technical issues
Ensure dimensional integrity of products, use of root cause analysis to reduce waste and non-compliance
Specifying tooling design requirements
Introduce new products and processes into production with in-depth involvement of product lifecycle management ensuring they are robust and repeatable.
Reporting directly to the Lead Product Engineer you will be a pro-active and experienced engineer who will interpret data and implement a series of actions in order to optimise the manufacturing process.
Lead part development and approval including metallurgical and dimensional aspects of the process.
Liaise directly with customers as well as operational and quality departments to ensure the smooth introduction of new parts.
Produce part specific instructions and support the operational teams once the part has been released to production.
Monitor scrap levels and implement improvement plans and actions as necessary.
Provide feedback and reports on project performance.
Ensure compliance to standard operating procedures.

The Person

Manufacturing Process Engineer Skills and experience;

Ideally educated to HNC level or equivalent in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering
experience of working in a Foundry / castings process environment
strong awareness of modern / lean manufacturing processes
A knowledge of Aerospace Quality standards and processes would be a distinct advantage
