Job Description

A supplier of specialist equipment is currently recruiting for a Pumps Service Engineer. An experienced service engineer you will carry out on-site serving of vacuum pumps and associated equipment, previous experience of vacuum pump repairs is essential.

Commutable from: Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Walsall, Kidderminster, Bromsgrove, West Bromwich.

Salary: £ 30,000 - £ 34,000 p.a. + Company vehicle + bonus + life assurance + pension.

The Role

The Pumps Service Engineer you will provide on-site corrective / preventative maintenance and offer after-sales technical and commercial support. The role is factory and field based, and part of the national service team, as a result you will be required to travel to client sites throughout the UK.

Key responsibilities:

Provide routine servicing and breakdown assistance to customers
Present a professional image to customers
Develop and maintain good working relationships with customers
Carry out installation, servicing and maintenance of associated pump equipment.
Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of pumps equipment and technology
Timely completion and submission of risk assessments work reports, activity reports and all other documentation
Liaise with the appropriate sales team on any potential leads
Provide feedback of any sales leads for pumps spares, overhauls, or new equipment
Offer feedback on future product development, features and function
Train customers in the safe operation and maintenance of vacuum pumps

The Person

You must be flexible to travel to customers sites throughout the UK
Previous experience in vacuum pump repairs
Excellent time management skills.
Able to work well both individually and as part of a team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Self-motivated, proactive with a can-do attitude.
Driving licence essential.
Recognised Apprenticeship, City & Guilds Part 1 & 2 or equivalent or ONC/HNC
