Job Description

A market leading British manufacturing Company supplying high technology products to the automotive sector are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer due to massive growth. You will have experience in IT network, hardware and software support.

Commutable from: Bicester, Milton Keynes, Bletchley, Towcester, Aylesbury, Oxford, Banbury, Northampton, Dunstable

Salary: circa £ 32,000 p.a. + 9% pension + holiday

The Role

As a Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for;

Working for a large global manufacturing organization you will be part of a small team responsible for installing and supporting computer hardware, software, and networks at various sites and potentially the wider Group.
Working to resolve both local support issues and Group driven projects in a hands-on role
Providing user support and training for all applications the company operate. Escalate support issues to the Infrastructure Support Lead and collaborate with the Group IT function and end users in the resolution of issues
Provide a quality ‘help desk` service to ensure that all end user queries and problems are logged and resolved in a timely manner
Support and maintain Group and local IT Infrastructure including: Virtual environment; devices and software, Local servers, LAN, WAN, WIFI, RF scanning solutions, and printers.
Install, support and maintain specific design solutions such as Catia V5, Speos and Ansys and plan, prioritize and control all hardware updates
Create and maintain a database of all software licenses used within Design and ensure all necessary software is always renewed, fully supported and up to date
Investigate, plan and coordinate TALC Infrastructure modifications and upgrades such as CAD software, meeting room app installations, phone installations and visitor access system to all Group IT policies
Adhere to health and safety directives as well as company guidelines
Order hardware, software, and peripherals in accordance with Group IT policy
Install new hardware and / or software ensuring that software licensing laws are adhered to
Perform backups of key systems adhering to the Group IT policy
Generate and maintain documentation and records as defined in the Group IT policy
Highlight reoccurring problems to the Infrastructure Support Lead
Report daily to the Infrastructure Support Lead and attend regular Group IT team meetings
Other duties as directed by the Group IT Management or Infrastructure Support Lead

The Person

An experienced Infrastructure Engineer;

With knowledge across a range of software, hardware and network frameworks and infrastructure including; Windows server, Citrix, ERP solutions, SQL 2008 to 2014, Server, Host, San & NAS technologies.
Possess the ability to function as a self-starting technical Infrastructure analyst
Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, customers, and suppliers
To keep I.T. skills up to date with current technologies
Must possess ability to express ideas effectively, both orally and in writing
Must have good organizational skills
Current driving license is required
