The Manufacturing Technology Centre is a UK success story - created to provide manufacturing systems solutions in an agile environment in partnership with industry, academia and other institutions. Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking a CNC Technician. The purpose of the role is to provide technical support for the MTC workshop to meet the needs of the research programmes and deliver value to their clients.
As CNC Technician, you will be required to: Carry out programming, setting and operating of various CNC Machine Centres. Provide sufficient knowledge and skill base to support research programmes. Carry out routine maintenance to machines or equipment to comply with the preventative maintenance plan. Maintain a safe working environment. Ensure work is undertaken to meet or exceed the customers quality expectations. Work effectively with all colleagues within the MTC, Research Partners, Industrial Members and wider client base. Ensure the confidentiality requirements associated with research projects/ activities is maintained.
The successful candidate for the CNC Technician position will possess the following attributes: Experience setting and operating 3-5 axis milling machines and 2-3 axis lathes. Previous programming experience both online and offline in addition to he use of CAD/CAM software for creating programmes. Background working with various materials including Aluminium, Steel, plastics and exotic alloys. Capable inspecting parts using micrometers, callipers and verniers. Able to adhere and promote health and safety in addition to identifying safe/ unsafe behaviour. Significant experience of prototyping and low volume manufacturing within a wide range of industries.
