Working for a rapidly increasing division of one of the world`s leading automotive First Tier manufacturers, this role is for a 6 month Controls Engineer position to provide breakdown support to the manufacturing site. The successful applicant will be experienced with PLC`s, robotic welding robot systems and exposure to pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

Commutable from: Cannock, Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Stafford, Stourbridge, Walsall

Salary: £ 30.00 - 38.00 per hour - 6 month contract

The Role

The Controls Engineer will provide breakdown support to manufacturing areas and carry out improvements and preventative maintenance on various equipment on site. The role will involve carrying out faultfinding and timely repair in the following areas; robotics, electrical control systems, hydraulics and pneumatics.

The Person

The successful Controls Engineer will have completed a recognised Electrical or Maintenance apprenticeship with 17th Edition regulations, and ideally be HNC qualified. Experience of PLC and HMI`s coupled with knowledge of Robotic Welding (ideally ABB / Motorman / Fanuc). You will have a reasonable level of mechanical aptitude including welding, fabrication and mechanical fitting.
