An ambitious engineering and technology company that has envisioned the future of the low-carbon vehicle markets is looking for a Functional Safety Engineer to join their brand new team in Solihull. The Functional Safety Engineer will be responsible for the implementation of functional safety requirements in-line with ISO 26262.
Salary: £ 40,000 £ 60,000 p.a.
A Functional Safety Engineer will Support the definition of a brand new vehicle wide network architecture Liaise with internal and external stakeholders defining and capturing network data flows Support definition and implementation of the network management strategy Capture network ICDs within a chosen network management toolset Define PDUs and End to End requirements for AUTOSAR ECUs Determine network throughout, timing and best path analysis / simulations Support configuration of network gateways
Required A Functional Safety Engineer must understand Ethernet, CAN, CAN FD and LIN Networks and there different protocols and wakeup/ sleep strategy`s. A good knowledge of ISO 26262, IEC 61508 or ISO 13849 standards. Experience with AUTOSAR network design tools (for instance PREEVision/ VSA COM). Knowledge of automotive network definition files such as DBC, LDF, Fibex etc. Past experience of defining PDUs on at least one of CAN / CAN DF / LIN automotive network buses. Experience working within automotive or aerospace industries. Minimum of a degree educated.
Preferred Previous experience as a Functional Safety Engineer is preferred. Have an understanding of Ethernet Switching, 100BASE-T1 and the TSN protocols Experience with software development in an AUTOSAR environment Experience with AUTOSAR stack configuration Experience with model based design techniques such as UML / SysML IBM rational toolchain - Doors, Rhapsody, RTC Experience of writing software for embedded applications Experience with diagnostic services and UDS protocols Knowledge of physical layer attributes / challenges of one of more type of automotive networks Experience with CANoe, CAPL, CANape, etc.
