The Manufacturing Technology Centre is a UK success story - created to provide manufacturing systems solutions in an agile environment in partnership with industry, academia and other institutions. Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking a Machining Process Engineer to join the team on a 24 month Fixed Term Contract. The purpose of the role is to provide technical assistance and coordination on research projects in relation to machining of precision components.
As Machining Process Engineer you will be responsible for: The creation, maintenance and ownership of the machining infrastructure. Provide daily production support to the operations team related to CNC Machining both conventional and non-conventional. Communicate activities and progression of research tasks to the Project Manager. Ability to support technical engineering processes and solutions. Budget and time management to ensure engineering tasks are managed accordingly.
The successful candidate for the Machining Process Engineer position will possess the following. Degree qualified in a relevant discipline of manufacturing. Previous experience working in a technical engineering environment. Strong understanding of machining processes to include, milling, turning, grinding and EDM. Capability to programme Electrical Discharge Machining Equipment. Ability to Programme milling and turning machines both online and offline. CAD/CAM skills are essential.
