A global leading manufacturer of precision components is currently recruiting a Senior Metallurgist to join its plant in Devon. With a relevant qualification (Metallurgy, Materials science) you will be have a good understanding of metal properties and worked in precision engineering. Full relocation support available.

An experienced Metallurgist you will undertake all metallurgical aspects including preparation, testing and analysis of metals, components, products and processes, ensuring the smooth running of the laboratory, this will include coordinating the validation of reports, investigating production failures and providing technical back up and advice on materials and methods. You will ensure test processes are robust and fit for purpose, checking that all machines are correctly calibrated,
You will be responsible for producing technical reports and conducting detailed technical investigations in accordance with project requirements. You will carry out R&D on new materials or components and assist project teams with interpretation of metallurgy, heat treatment and associated testing regimes prior to/during contract execution
Applicants must have a degree in metallurgy, or materials engineering ideally with a minimum of five years` experience working in the aerospace sector, although other sectors will be considered. You will be conversant with technical report writing, supplier and customer liaison and able to project manage research programmes.
