A Senior Research Engineer Physics Modelling is required to join The Manufacturing Technology Centre. Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking a Senior Research Engineer Physics Modelling.
The purpose of the Senior Research Engineer Physics Modelling role is to support the team with project-based creative problem solving, solution concepts, model development, understanding of underlying Physics and optimisation.

The Senior Research Engineer Physics Modelling role will be based in the Simulation department within Digital Engineering, delivering work in the area of Physics Modelling.
Key deliverables include: Provide a level of technical expertise and experience to support delivery of projects, particularly in support to REs, AREs and SREs within the team. Supporting the technology manager and product development manager in developing the competence and capabilities of the theme. Co-ordinating and leading the business development activities of the Physics Modelling team. The post holder will lead the interaction with MTC sector leads in order to facilitate this business development role. The post holder will monitor the theme project pipeline and take ownership of working with the technology manager to ensure that adequate projected project work is available. Lead project proposal and business case writing for the Physics Modelling team portfolio, from a range of funding sources including industrial, collaborative R&D and internal;
The ideal candidate for the Senior Research Engineer Physics Modelling would: Have experience working in a project based environment; Have strong logical reasoning and analytical skills; Have a relevant engineering or Physics background, with a particular focus to industrial applications; Have significant experience conducting modelling and simulation studies; Have subject matter expertise in one or more of the core areas of the team: electromagnetic`s, fluid dynamics, structural mechanics or heat transfer; Expert knowledge in using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and the Discrete Element Method (DEM). Have excellent communication skills.
