A Process Engineer is required to support the industrial R&D scale up process of a leading UK Lithium-Ion battery manufacturing technical centre. This role will involve the implementation and delivery of a chemical slurry mixing process.

The Process Engineer will be directly responsible for the design, specification, ordering, installation, testing and commissioning of automated mixing equipment within the battery industry. To provide specialist technical recommendations, practical tools and design resolution advice for manufacturing and performance within the project. The Process Engineer will share information with colleagues and customers, and provide recommendations. To identify, operate and install suitable equipment to support the project objectives. Carrying out suitable tests to evaluate the equipment performance effect on product to push forward the boundaries of current knowledge in each topic area. Running on a campaign strategy. To record and track the delivery of deliverables during research and production & identify routes for achievement of targets.
The successful Process Engineer will possess:
As Process Engineer you will have a good honours degree in a relevant subject (e.g. Mechanical Engineering) The Process Engineer will have a good understanding of manufacturing engineering and industrial automation (especially mixing processes) within high precision engineering industries e.g.: FMCG or Chemical etc. Experience of manufacturing / process engineering within high volume industries. Project planning and reporting skills Experience of making and implementing recommendations for process improvements Ability to deliver rapid, commercially focused results, with well honed-problem solving skills Ability to initiate, plan, organise, implement and deliver programmes of work to tight deadlines, both in project and volume phases. Competency in IT and familiarity with a computerised environment - this may require specifics e.g. PLC, SCADA, Manufacturing Execution System (MES), CAD, CFD A significant level of relevant product development experience in an industrial context A sound ability to analyse and interpret data.
