The Manufacturing Technology Centre is a UK success story - created to provide manufacturing systems solutions in an agile environment in partnership with industry, academia and other institutions. Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking a Design & Build Engineer. The purpose of the role is to work as part of the design team within the larger Advanced Production Systems Group.
Areas of responsibility for the Design & Build Engineer will include management and deliver of industrial and collaborative projects across a number of industrial sectors. You will manage your own projects and support others with design and project management using engineering principles and techniques. Other key deliverables and responsibilities will include: Development of design specification documentation, brainstorming, of complex problems within research and industrial manufacturing environments Design validation using tools such as FEA, simulation and motion analysis Creation and core writing of Core Research Projects (CRP`s) and support business development/customer focus initiatives for the MTC Manage and deliver customer projects, taking the responsibility for quality, on time delivery and cost-management whilst adhering to the MTC guidelines
The ideal candidate for the Design & Build Engineer is someone who is degree qualified within a Mechatronics/Mechanical/Manufacturing area with over three years` experience in manufacturing or design engineering. Other proficiencies and technical knowledge will include: 3+ years of CAD/CAE software ideally with Siemens NX or Catia V5 Firm understanding of engineering principles Demonstrable knowledge of problem-solving tools and error-proofing techniques Depth technical knowledge of designing, manufacturing and commissioning tools, fixtures or machines. Programming experience for PLC and/or MCU controlled systems
