An exciting new company specialising in Electric Machines and Power Electronics are looking for a Senior-Principal CAE Engineer. You will be involved at all stages of the design and development process, liaising directly with customers, and the engineering team to provide and deliver effective engineering solutions. Responsible for the inception, and performance of advanced electric drive module designs across a broad range of company series-production and advanced R&D projects.
As the Senior-Principal CAE Engineer, you will be responsible for the; Creation and development of 2D and 3D model-based electromagnetic designs for EMPEL scalable electric propulsion modules. Generation of concept CAE designs and continuous control and monitoring of these throughout the design, prototyping and development phases. Performance analysis and test correlation reports and tracking of specifications in close collaboration with development and manufacturing functions. Liaise with customers, contractors and suppliers to ensure development and delivery of designs. Support product sourcing, purchasing and selection as required by the design process. Ensure project documentation is correctly managed, maintained and released in accordance with company BMS processes and procedures. Participate in technical reviews of product designs, requirements and specifications. Delivery of engineering tasks in line with project milestones. Track, manage and maintain Performance models and compliance in the product target matrix. Assure design feasibility by confirming fabrication, assembly and installation processes. Confirm system capabilities by designing testing methods or utilizing analysis tools
A degree or similar in an engineering discipline A minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience. Experience in automotive electro-mechanical systems CAE and prototype development. Ability to support the delivery of original innovative cost-effective design solutions. Sound knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and materials selection. Experience in component manufacturing techniques and methods. Proven track record in the effective delivery of technical objectives to quality targets and milestones. Ideally, advanced FEA and CFD knowledge for evaluating theoretical designs Advanced capabilities in Microsoft Office and applications. Working experience of mechanical systems CAD software e.g. CATIA, Unigraphics, Solidworks or similar can be beneficial. Training can be provided. Previous experience of BMS procedures including ISO9001
